So, most people who read this know which colors we’re using in our wedding – we’re going with the 4 basic primary colors plus black and white (and gray!). The bridesmaids are each wearing one of the primary colors (plus black), and I was very excited back in May when I found the perfect coordinating seersucker for various projects.
Well, it’s happened again. It’s almost too perfect to pass up!
I was thinking about what to use for our table runners and where to find cheap, but high quality fabric, and it reminded me of our settee reupholstery project (still in the works, because I hate tucking pleats on rounded arms with a passion you never knew I had). We got green and white striped canvas from Ikea, of all places, and the other colors available fit right in:
Pretty sweet, huh? I still have to convince Matt that it’s a good idea, but I think using this would liven up the pretty neutral palate of the tables and not break the bank in the process.
Also, our original idea involved burlap. Pretty, yes, but scratchy and often accompanied by a barnyard odor. Not great for semi-formal dining, I think.
Unfortunately, because much of the decorating is table based, we’ve got to find out how many people will be attending before we buy anything so that we know how many tables we have, ergo how much to get. And that’s not going to happen until next spring. So, in the meantime, I’ll continue to stress about what I want the tables to look like without any active (shopping) outlet to relieve the pressure.
=) I’ll live.
