So….I discovered the solution to my flower issues. I’d wanted some flowers for at least myself and the bridesmaids (I don’t know what the flower girls will be throwing yet), but fresh flowers have to be done right before the day. I would really like to be able to have them ready to go well in advance, and the only options seemed like silk flowers, paper flowers, or dried flowers. None of those options sounded like a whole lot of fun.
Then I came across these:
They look real, don’t they?
Well, these lovely bunches of peonies are actually made of chiffon, and the whole bunch cost less than $30 to make.
I’m planning to use my noggin to design different varieties of fabric flowers using this basic idea, so that I can put together bouquets of white peonies, red poppies, yellow ranunculus, and blue asters, punctuated with frilly greens and black feathers. This project is going to be fun!
